Unveiling Hidden Histories

Welcome to our blog!!

A new chapter in our journey at Anders Genealogical Services.

Since 2014, I have been researching the early African Americans residents of southeast Minnesota. Along the way, I've met and collaborated with some incredible researchers, and together, we're bringing this project to life.

The individuals and families we’ve researched played pivotal roles in shaping the communities we know today, yet their stories remain largely untold, tucked away in the dusty corners of archives or lost to time. This blog seeks to change that by bringing their narratives to the forefront, ensuring they receive the recognition and honor they deserve.

Why This Matters

Our mission is twofold: to honor the legacy of these early residents and to build a bridge for their descendants and other researchers looking to connect with these stories. These narratives are not just history; they're a testament to their resilience and contribution, deserving recognition and remembrance.

Join the Conversation

This blog is also an invitation—an invitation to engage, contribute, and enrich our collective understanding of history. Whether you are a descendant of the region's early African American residents, a fellow genealogist, or simply someone with a passion for history, your perspectives and insights are invaluable. I encourage you to share your thoughts, questions, and stories in the comments below or reach out directly via email.

Looking Ahead

As we get started here, we're excited about the connections we'll make and the stories we'll tell. Stay tuned for posts that promise to educate, inspire, and invoke the spirit of our shared past.

Thanks!
Mica
